Artwork generation reads your workspace, not just your prompt. The same request produces something generic in an empty workspace and something specific in a filled-in one, which is why setup comes first.
Start from the studio
Open Media. The landing page is the Creative Studio, and it offers three ways in: Create Photo, Design Artwork, and Make Video.
For cover and release visuals you want Design Artwork, described on the page as the Cover Art Designer for album artwork and release visuals.
The left panel splits the studio into Studio, Photos, Artwork, Videos, Assets and Export Kits, and each of those shows a count so you can see what the workspace already has.
Give it something to work from
Before generating, make sure two things are in place, because they do more for the result than any prompt wording:
- The artist profile. The biography, genre and location are the context the generator has for what your act sounds and looks like.
- The song’s lyrics. Imagery in the words is reference material. A track with corrected lyrics produces artwork that belongs to that song rather than to the genre in general.
If either is thin, fix it first. It is faster than iterating on prompts against a workspace that cannot answer the question.
Iterate deliberately
Generate, look, and change one thing at a time. Changing the prompt and the reference material together tells you nothing about which one moved the result.
Artwork is generated work, so it draws on your credit balance. The balance sits in the top bar, and a run that has to be repeated because the profile was empty costs exactly as much as one that did not.
Where it goes
Generated artwork lands under Artwork in the media studio, alongside Photos and Videos. From there it can be applied to the song or album it was made for.
Letter a cover in chat
Generated images are pictures; they do not set type well. For a cover with your band name and the title on it, ask the Visual Director in chat, for example “letter a cover with our name and the song title”.
It builds the cover in layers: the image, then the lettering, then effects such as a shadow, an outline or a glow. It can arch the title, mirror the image into a symmetric frame, or put the subject in front of the title. Ask for changes in plain words (“bigger title”, “gold lettering”, “move the name to the top”), and each change becomes a new numbered version.
Designs are listed under Artwork, in Designs. There you can see every version, go back to an earlier one with Use this version, or keep one with Save as artwork. The invite under a design opens the chat with that design in context, so you can carry on refining it.
Each new version costs 1 credit and upscaling to print size costs 2. Going back to a version and saving as artwork are free.
What to do next
If generated images do not look like the people in your act, that is a different problem with a different fix, and it lives in reference photos rather than prompts. There is an article on it.
